Register Now To Set The CPR Training World Record at WCA

24.08.2021

Dear SRATI Members,

Help the WFSA World Congress of Anaesthesiologists set the world record for the number of countries taking part simultaneously in an online cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training session.

Hands on Hearts – CPR Training World Record on Saturday 4 September 2021 at 13:00 – 13:30 CET

To take part and make sure your country is contributing to the challenge please register here: https://on-line-form.eu/wca2021/cpr/index.php?coo=1

The availability of life-saving CPR skills through traditional face-to-face training has been drastically reduced due to COVID-19. With an estimated 20,000 people suffering a cardiac arrest daily, this lack of training is costing lives and online CPR training is proven to be the way forward because it is both effective and accessible.

This record attempt – coordinated by WFSA in partnership with the Laerdal Foundation and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) – will highlight the need and the ease of making this vital training available to all.

All you need to do before the event is download the QCPR Classroom app to your phone and make sure you have a firm cushion / CPR manikin and a laptop!

WCA delegates will join the world record attempt by video call and the Laerdal developed Anniewhere CPR training app. The app enables instructors to teach CPR skills remotely and in classrooms using everyday items such as pillows to practice compressions.  The app uses your smartphone camera to count compression rates.

As WFSA President, Adrian Gelb said, “Resuscitation is a key part of what anaesthesiologists do. The WCA 2021 is the largest global gathering of its kind, so we’re very excited to be able to bring together anaesthesiologists from every corner of the world to set this new record.”

The world record attempt will be live-streamed on WFSA’s Facebook so invite your family, friends and colleagues to take part and let’s make HISTORY!
